Practical information

Course of events

- Welcome at the LA LIBERTÉ NORD-SUD refuge (200 metres from the car park, bring all your personal belongings)
- Equipment handover
- Technical training and demonstration (approx. 30 minutes)
- Walk to the wall (less than 20 minutes, up to 100 metres ascent and less than 500 metres walk to the various walls)
- Supervised climbs and advice from the instructor for 4 hours, including a lunch break (bring your own picnic)
- End of ice climbing and return to the refuge
- Return of equipment and end of the activity

Activity requirements

Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Do not forget to bring
  • Synthetic clothing (which dries quickly) as a first layer
  • Fleece jacket
  • Windbreaker, soft shell or waterproof jacket
  • Down jacket (with or without sleeves - recommended) - to keep you warm when we are not moving
  • backpack (30-40 litres)
  • Toque (avoid ponpon toques, they don't work with helmets), scarf, mittens and gloves (2 pairs)
  • Old snow or outdoor trousers (the risk of piercing trousers with crampons is high)
  • A pair of warm socks
  • Change of clothes for the return journey
  • Lip balm and sun cream
  • Sunglasses or ski goggles
  • Camera
  • 1L of water / Warm drink
  • Picnic lunch
  • Snack
