Practical information

On this excursion, you will combine a guided 2.5-hour glacier hike on Sólheimajökull Glacier with a 2-hour quad biking adventure on Mýrdalsjökull Glacier.

Course of events

- Please arrive at the starting point at least 20 minutes before the activity start time

- Meet the guide

- Safety briefing and instructions

- The glacier hiking adventure begins!

- Walk on Sólheimajökull Glacier (approximately 2.5 hours)

- Return to the starting point

- Make your own way to the Mýrdalsjökull base for the ATV tour

- Receive equipment and instructions for quad biking

- The 2-hour quad biking adventure begins!

- Drive to Mýrdalsjökull Glacier

- Visit Sólheimasandur black sand beach and DC-3 plane wreck

- Return to the starting point

Activity requirements

Quad drivers must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid car driver's license. Please bring the physical copy with you on the day of the activity.

Children or those without a licence will ride on the vehicle as a passenger.

Hiking boots are required in order to use the glacier equipment.

Special terms

Please note that after the glacier hiking tour, you will need to make your own way to the base camp for the ATV tour. Address: Mýrdalsjökull Base Camp, Ytri Sólheimar, Vík 781, Iceland.

For this tour, you can choose to share the quad between two participants, with one driver and one passenger and the chance to switch during the excursion, or drive as a single rider (mandatory for groups with odd numbers).
