Practical information
A 20-minute flight and an introduction to paragliding in winter.
The first part of the flight will take place at L'Alpe d'Huez or Villard Reculas, depending on the wind. Taking off on skis gives you a gradual take-off and an immediate feeling of weightlessness.
The second part of the flight will be more aerial with the arrival in the Bourg d'Oisans valley. You can learn to fly a paraglider in a safe area while discovering the Armentier cliffs.
- Arrival at the meeting point and safety briefing
- Paragliding take-off from Le Signal
- 20min flight, 1400m ascent
- Introduction to paragliding

Even complete ski beginners can take part in the winter paragliding flight.
Experienced skiers must weigh now more than 90 kgs
Ski beginners must weigh no more than 80 kgs
You must not exceed these weights as this could result in an accident.
All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
For this activity, you must call Alpe Vol Libre the day before your flight to confirm it.
You have the possibility of obtaining photos and videos of your flight, on spot for 25€.
Everyone needs to use skis for this activity and NOT mini-skis or snowboards.
You can take off without skis depending on the weather conditions – this cannot be guaranteed for your flight.
Tip: for those of you on holiday please book your flight towards the beginning of your holiday as this will leave sufficient time if the flight needs to be delayed or postponed due to weather conditions.
It is possible to have more than 1 person flying at the same time if they are all the same size. A passenger weighing 80 kg will not be able to fly with a passenger of 55 kg for aerological reasons.
The meeting point is at the foot of the Signal piste. If you have already purchased a pair of skis and a lift pass, you can take the Signal chairlift to the take-off area. Otherwise, you'll need to arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes beforehand to hire the necessary equipment.
