Practical information
A full descent of the Langevin Canyon in Saint-Joseph, also known as the Grand Galet Canyon.
- Approach walk: 20 minutes
- Descent of the canyon: 6 hours
- Return walk: 5 minutes
- Maximum abseil height: 85 metres (Grand Galet waterfall)
- Meeting with the instructor in the car park at the Langevin cane scales
- Drive in your own vehicle to a car park near the canyon
- Equipment with a briefing on how the activity will unfold
- 20-minute approach walk to the start of the descent of the Grand Galet Canyon
- Briefing on the descent of the canyon and safety instructions
- Departure for a 6-hour canyoning descent in the Grand Galet Canyon, including a section upstream of the waterfall with 2 abseils (15 and 25 metres), a coffee/tea and macatias break at the top of the waterfall before abseiling down it on an 85-metre-high zip line, then a section in the Langevin Canyon with abseils, jumps, natural slides and zip lines, including a 50-metre-long mega zip line at the start at a height of 20 metres + a 40-metre-long zip line-toboggan at the end of the trip
- 5-minute walk back to the car park
- De-equipping and end of the activity
All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.
It is recommended to not have a strong fear of heights.
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
This activity is not accessible to pregnant people.
