Practical information
For this activity, each snowmobile is shared between two, with one driver and one passenger and the opportunity to switch.
For safety reasons, children under 14 years old will sit in a sled pulled by the guide's snowmobile. It is recommended that an adult also sits in the sled with smaller children.
- Meet at the starting point in Rovaniemi
- Safety briefing and snowmobile driving lesson
- Receive Arctic gear and equipment
- The snowmobiling adventure begins!
- Drive through the snowy forest for approximately 1-2 hours
- Arrive at the reindeer farm
- Meet the reindeer and short sleigh ride (approximately 500 metres/1,640 feet)
- Lunch around a campfire
- Travel to the husky farm
- Meet the huskies and short sled ride (approximately 500 metres/1,640 feet)
- Free time at Santa Claus Village (approximately 2 hours)
- Transfer back to pick-up point in Rovaniemi
Snowmobile drivers must hold a valid driver's license (category B). Please bring the original document with you on the day of the activity.
Participants must be at least 140cm / 4'6" to sit on the sled as a passenger. Children who meet this height requirement can sit as a passenger when paying the adult price.
Meet your guide at Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park in Santa Claus Village (Joulumaantie 5) or at Arctic Circle Snowmobile Park City Office (Koskikatu 25).
The city office in the Rovaniemi Center is located downstairs in the Shopping Center Rinteenkulma (Koskikatu 25). You can also find the entrance to the city office just across the road from Hertz and Scandic Rovaniemi City.
Missed meeting time and points will result in a missed safari which will not be refunded.
In order to drive a snowmobile, a valid driver’s license (class B) is required. A provisional license or a picture of the driving license won’t be accepted. The driving license must be recognizable in English. If you do not bring your driving license you won’t be able to drive a snowmobile and no refund can be offered.
The snowmobile driver is responsible for any damages to the vehicle, with a maximum personal self-liability of 950€ per person per snowmobile in case of an accident. Additional insurance can be purchased on site for 15€, reducing self-liability to 150€. This insurance must be purchased before the start of the tour.
