Practical information
On this excursion, you'll depart from Reykjavík and embark on a glacier hike on Sólheimajökull Glacier.
- Please arrive at the starting point in Reykjavík at least 20 minutes before the activity start time
-Meet the guide and board the bus
- Drive to the base at Mýrdalsjökull Glacier (approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes)
- Stop in Hvolsvöllur on the way
- Arrive at the activity base
- Receive the glacier equipment
- Safety briefing and instructions
- The 1.5-hour glacier hiking adventure begins!
- Explore Sólheimajökull Glacier
- Visit the blue ice caves
- Return to the base
- Return bus drive to Reykjavík (approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes)
- Stop at Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss waterfall
- Arrive at the original starting point in Reykjavík
Hiking boots are required in order to use the glacier equipment.
