Just 1 hour from Ronda, this 3 km canyon features vertical drops, natural pools, abseils, and narrow limestone passages – perfect for sporty adventurers!
Course of events
- Approach & Briefing (approx. 1 hour)
- Meet your guide and the rest of the group at the meeting point
- Distribution of equipment and safety briefing
- Short drive (if needed) and 30-minute walk to the canyon entrance
- Technical and environmental explanation before entering the protected area
- Canyoning in Garganta Verde (approx. 2.5–3 hours)
- Enter the canyon and start the descent through a spectacular limestone gorge
- Abseils (up to 12m), natural slides, and optional jumps
- Stunning narrow passages, emerald pools, and towering walls up to 400m high
- Opportunities to spot griffon vultures and other local wildlife
- Return & Wrap-up (approx. 45 min–1 hour)
- End of the descent and hike back to the starting point
- Gear return and photo sharing
- End of activity, you can discover Zahara de la Sierra or return to Ronda
Activity requirements
- Good physical condition is required – this canyon includes walking, scrambling, and vertical sections
- All participants must be able to swim
- Minors must have written authorization from their parents or legal guardians
- Minimum group size: 4 participants (for booking confirmation)
- Advance booking is essential, as this canyon is located within a protected area and access is subject to official permits issued by the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park
- Availability depends on the number of permits granted for the requested date – early reservation increases your chances of securing a spot
