This kayak rafting experience near Fort William will offer you around 3 hours of adventure on the River Leven, alongside an instructor who will be in his own boat. Your instructor will be on hand to ensure your safety throughout the tour, providing advice and assistance as required. You don't need to be able to swim to take part, as the kayak rafts are stable and safe and the team will provide you with all the necessary equipment (wetsuit, helmet and life jacket), but you do need to be comfortable in the water. Discover 'Funyakking', a kayak rafting descent on the River Leven for around 3 hours, through class 2 to 3 rapids.

Course of events

Please plan to spend a total of 3.5 hours on site.

  • Welcome to the Vertical Descents base at Kinlochleven, 5 to 10 minutes before the start of the activity
  • Fitting safety equipment (wetsuit, helmet and life jacket)
  • Briefing on kayak rafting, the activity and safety instructions
  • Launching kayak rafts
  • Depart for a 3-hour kayak rafting tour down the River Leven, through class 2 to 3 rapids
  • At the end of the tour, transfer back to the base
  • De-equipping and end of the activity
Activity requirements

You don't need to be able to swim to take part in this activity, but you do need to be comfortable in the water.

All minors must be accompanied by an adult.

If you have any specific health problems (asthma, epilepsy, diabetes, etc.), please inform the instructor once your booking has been confirmed.

Special terms

This activity is not accessible to pregnant people and is not recommended for people with back problems.

A minimum of 2 participants is required to run this activity.
