An activity that celebrates the seasons, travel across the Bernese Oberland between the emerald-colour waters of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, discovering dense forests, alpine meadows and glaciers as you soar into the cloud line.

Location
This activity takes place at the Höhematte and travels across the Harder Kulm at 1,321 metres in the Berner Oberland region of Switzerland (Bernese Alps), overlooking the towns of Interlaken and Unterseen.

Activity
Arriving at the Höhematte before sunrise, meet the ground team and pilot for this scenic hot air balloon flight in the Alps. This an experience that can be organised for groups of friends and families alike, help the crew ready the balloon and organise the equipment, watching as your pilot starts to inflate the balloon. Once fully inflated, you will step inside the carriage and the ground team will release the anchors, allowing you to glide gently and slowly into the air. With your pilot in total control, all you have to do is enjoy the view – watching the sun rise over the Alps – an advantage afforded by the seasonal nature of ballooning so close to the mountain range.

Travelling high above the mountain range at an altitude of 12000 feet, explore the dramatic peaks along the roof of Europe, cruising above ice age glaciers and summits that have never felt a footprint.

A beautiful spectrum of colours can be seen throughout the seasons, with winter whites, blossoming greens in spring and vibrant orange hues come autumn. The pilot can influence the course of the balloon by climbing or descending and is in permanent radio contact with the ground crew, which will meet with the balloon at the landing position. On touchdown, the equipment will be packed away and guests can enjoy a glass of fizz or light refreshments to celebrate the experience.

Conditions
Operating throughout the year, flights take place before sunrise. Overall, 4 to 6 hours of time have to be planned. Meeting time and place will be informed by the flight crew the day before (first passenger briefing is available 2 days before the flight).
