About the activity

Gliding with the current along a river fed by the glaciers of Mont Blanc and immersing yourself in an unexpected green corridor is a truly memorable adventure, offering a completely new perspective on Geneva. The Arve, which winds its way across the French-Swiss border before joining the Rhône, provides a surprisingly wild 7-kilometre stretch right on the city’s doorstep. Its wooded banks form a natural green curtain that shields you from the urban bustle, creating a peaceful bubble of nature where calm sections alternate with more dynamic stretches. By taking part in this rafting excursion on the Arve, you benefit from optimal safety conditions while discovering white-water sports in the heart of the canton of Geneva.

Your activity begins at the Sierne base, easily accessible via Geneva’s public transport network. After meeting the Rafting-Loisirs team, you will be provided with high-quality technical equipment suited to the season. A clear safety briefing will cover key instructions, paddle handling, and boat control techniques. Once on the water, you will set off on a gradual 1.5-hour descent along a Class II route with a few Class III sections. Under the close supervision of your professional guide on board, you will learn to coordinate your efforts with the rest of the group to navigate waves and rapids, while enjoying stunning views of the riverbanks’ biodiversity, until you reach the spectacular confluence at La Jonction.

This rafting session near Geneva is open to all levels and requires no prior experience, making it ideal for families, groups of friends, or bachelor/bachelorette celebrations. A qualified instructor is always present on each raft to ensure maximum safety and support for participants. All practical arrangements are in place for your comfort: dry belongings can be sent directly to the finish point so you can continue your day in the city centre, or you may choose a shuttle transfer back to the main base, where hot showers are available.

This activity runs from May to September, depending on seasonal conditions and river flow. Book your Arve rafting descent now and get ready for an exclusive aquatic adventure in Geneva!

The rafting expereince was great, although getting stuck on the last waterfall added an extra twist to the adventure that the more nervous in my group could have done without! However, even my son, who was quite nervous at first, enjoyed himself in the end.
