Course of events
Please allow approximately 4.5 hours on site for the entire experience.
- Welcome at the Mafate Helicopters hangar at Saint-Pierre Airport (free parking nearby) with coffee, tea or hot chocolate, 30 minutes before the start of the activity
- Briefing on the activity and safety instructions on board the helicopter
- Boarding the aircraft with headset equipment
- Take off for a 7-8 minute helicopter flight over Bras de la Plaine River
- Landing at Grand Bassin for a Creole lunch cooked over a wood fire in a hidden cottage (approximately 3.5 hours on site): on the menu, a welcome drink (punch or fruit juice), Creole meal (chicken curry and cod rougail or equivalent meal depending on availability) and dessert (usually banana/potato cake and/or fruit salad depending on availability) with coffee
- Return flight to Saint-Pierre airport, lasting 7 to 8 minutes
- Landing at the airport and disembarkation
- Flight debriefing with the pilot, presentation of your flight certificate and opportunity to have your photo taken in front of the helicopter to end the activity
Activity requirements
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please arrive 30 minutes before the start of the activity.
It is not recommended to drink a lot of alcohol the day before your flight.
If necessary, take tablets for motion sickness before taking off.
