Spend a nice morning discovering Mauritius on an electric mountain bike excursion in Chamarel, including a visit to a rum distillery and a tasting session!
The south-west of Mauritius is bursting with magnificent scenery, from its turquoise lagoon and the lush vegetation of Le Morne Brabant mountain to its sugar cane, coffee and pineapple fields and the superb Chamarel Seven Colored Earth Geopark. So why not set off to discover it on an electric bike ride in Chamarel, following a local guide who will share with you all his knowledge and passion for this part of Mauritius?
Riding an electrically-assisted bike - the ideal way to get around Chamarel's roads and tracks without getting too tired - you will start by going to the Chamarel Rum Distillery where you will enjoy a guided tour and a tasting of the rum (and pineapple, season permitting). Once this cultural break is over, you will hop back on the saddle to cycle through Chamarel to the Chamarel waterfall, one of the most impressive waterfalls in Mauritius by its height (around 100 metres!). You will then head to the Chamarel Seven Colored Earth Geopark, one of the island's must-see sites, where you can also meet giant tortoises.
Accessible to children from 143 cm, this electric bike ride in Chamarel will be a superb outing for families and groups of friends looking to discover the south-west of Mauritius!
