After a briefing on the boat by your instructor departing from Pointe du Bout, the boat will anchor on a shallow bottom a few meters from the shore of Les Trois-Îlets, in a place only accessible by sea. You will enter the water via the ladder specially designed for divers, with your fins and mask. Your instructor will then equip you with the rest in the water, for your comfort.

On the surface, you will try to breathe with the regulator, which is even easier than with a snorkel! You will take the time to get comfortable with the equipment, and only when you are ready will you gradually descend underwater. You will learn the basic signs to understand you, like "I'm fine" and "I'm not fine". The instructor will listen to you throughout your dive: he can quickly bring you back to the surface if you wave to him, and you can resume your dive after being reassured.

Depending on your comfort, this first dive at Les Trois-Îlets will last between 20 and 30 minutes, up to a maximum depth of 6 meters.
