Surfing Lessons in São Roque Beach in Machico, Madeira

This surfing lesson in Madeira will last around 2 hours and will divided into, first, a theoretical lesson, where you'll learn all the basic techniques needed to jump into the water on your board, while the second part will be practical, and you'll get to apply everything you've learned with an instructor there to help you master the necessary techniques.

Your instructor will welcome you at Around Freedom Surf School, and give you a short introduction to the activity. Then, they distribute the surfing equipment: the board, the wetsuit, and the invention (the leash that attaches the board to your foot). Then, you'll be ready to start the first part of the surfing course, where your instructor will explain the different parts of the board, how to carry it and enter the water with it, how to stand up on the board, how to balance on it, and anything else they deem important for you to know.

After half an hour, your surfing experience in Madeira will truly begin! You will enter the water and put everything you've learned into practice, as your instructor watches you and makes sure you are doing things right, as well as answers any questions that might come up. You will be in the water for an hour and a half, enough time for you to practice all the techniques you've learned, and get familiar with the board, the water, and your own body in the surfng positions.

This surf lesson in the coast of Madeira is a beginner's course, so don't worry if it's your first time on the board, your instructor will guide you at all times and help you learn as much as you can in the time you have. The instructor will have up to 6 people in the group, small enough for them to handle, but large enough for you to come wth a friend or family member!
