You will have the help of spotters from land to increase your chances of seeing as many species as possible and your guides will approach them, see how they react to human contact, and tell you if it's safe for you to dive into the water with them!

Since it is possible that the animals are scared or that they are simply not there (because they are wild animals and act accordingly), only if your snorkelling excursion around Madeira is successful, and you get to swim with whales and/or dolphins, you will have to pay an additional fee to your instructor of 20€ per person.
