Activity
Meet your instructor at the activity base for the sea kayaking excursion in Kilkee Bay. Organised according to age and ability, this horseshoe bay is celebrated for its unique tidal sea caves and coves that can only be accessed from the tide line. Starting off from the beach, kit up with a sit-on-top sea kayak and learn more about ocean safety, tides and the wildlife to look out for as you explore. Paddling at a casual pace, follow your guide as you travel across the bay, investigating caves and coves, kayaking around inlets and searching the rock face for signs of the area’s natural history and cultural heritage. Travelling along the Loop Head peninsula, leave your kayaks on the basalt rocks and explore the hidden landscape on foot – spotting marine life like seals, dolphins, macro critters and seabirds alike. Travelling back to Kilkee Beach, after your lesson is over, head back to the base where you can dry off and enjoy a cup of tea at the end.
