The large amount of lava from this event covers an area of approximately 85 square kilometres (32 square miles). With several stops to take photos and breaks for snacks, don't forget a packed lunch! This remote locale is far from restaurants and cafés. Recharged, the journey resumes via Super Jeep to a pristine glacial river and Europe's largest desert with further exploration of Vatnajökull National Park before returning to the original departure point in Mývatn.
