For 9,000 years, this passage has remained intact, offering the chance to observe the rock formations caused by volcanic activity thousands of years ago.
Just an hour's drive from Reykjavik, Litli-Björn and Vörðuhellir are within easy reach of the main sites of the Golden Circle. Litli-Björn was discovered in 1987 and was considered a single cave until a passage linking it to Vörðuhellir was discovered. It then became the largest cave in Thingvellir National Park!
