Let your kids discover the magic of Hawaii for themselves during a private surfing lesson on the beautiful Waikiki Beach in Honolulu!
In Hawaii, surfing is intertwined with the cultural identity of the locals and they start their Keki (Hawaiian for kids) surfing young! If your kids already love the ocean or simply want to try a new sport, this surfing lesson geared towards ages 3-12 is the perfect activity for them!
Waikiki Beach is a great spot for beginner surfing lessons—not only is it easily accessible and renowned for its surfing heritage, but its shallow, protected waters and gentle waves create perfect conditions for young surfers and those trying the sport for the first time. In addition, both surfers (and parents watching from the beach) will get to enjoy the delightful scenery of Waikiki, the Honolulu skyline, and the iconic Diamond Head crater and surfers might even get the chance to spot gentle sea turtles swimming by them!
To begin their lesson, your budding surfer will be assessed on their aquatic skill level and physical abilities to decide whether a 45 lesson or an hour maximum lesson will be the right fit. From there, not only will the private surfing lesson at Waikiki Beach be a super personalised experience that will set your keiki up with foundational skills and core memories of learning something new, but most importantly it will also be a lot of fun! For younger or less experienced kids, the lesson will start off with tandem surfing where the instructor will accompany your keiki on the board for onhand guidance and support. With Hawaiian Boy Surf School, safety is the number one priority and all instructors hold lifeguard CPR and first aid certifications!
