This excursion takes place at the Neda River near the city of Kalamata. The Neda River is located in the Peloponnese of southern Greece. In Greek mythology, Neda was believed to be the nymph who nursed Zeus, the king of the gods, when he was an infant. The river is renowned for its stunning natural beauty, with clear turquoise waters, lush vegetation, and dramatic gorges, the perfect location for a canyoning adventure!
The trip begins at the starting point at Neda River, where you'll meet the experienced guide. They will provide all of the canyoning equipment, including a wet suit, a helmet, harnesses, carabiners, ropes, and waterproof bags. The guide will go through a safety briefing and explain how to descend the gorge carefully. Then, you'll begin with your first slide into one of the ponds of the gorge!
Throughout the excursion, you'll descend the gorge by swimming, walking, and jumping, with instructions from the guide. You don't need any previous canyoning experience to enjoy this adventure. The Neda River is also home to stunning waterfalls, with some of the cleanest waters in Greece. You'll abseil down the waterfalls in a thrilling and safe way. The enjoyable trip ends with an exciting 23-metre (75-foot) rappel down the greatest and most notable waterfall of the river.
After the exhilarating canyoning experience, you'll be treated to a well-deserved picnic lunch at the riverbank. Enjoy a delicious meal of freshly baked bread, handpicked vegetables, extra virgin olive oil dips, local cheese, and fruits of the season as you admire the picturesque scenery of the Neda River.
