Providing all the snorkelling equipment you need (fins, mask and snorkel, and even a full wetsuit if required), as well as the advantage of having a guide by your side and a fish identification booklet on board the boat, this activity will give you an unforgettable snorkelling experience in Nice. Right from the start, you will be delighted to be able to admire the port and cape of Nice from the boat, as well as the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula, which you will sail towards to reach the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer.

Once you arrive at the snorkelling site, you will have the pleasure of diving into the clear and warm waters (24 to 28°C) of the Villefranche harbour in a small group of 12 people maximum, at depths ranging from 2 to 6 metres. The guide will be in the water with you for 20 minutes to show you from the surface the treasures that are hidden here (starfish, sea urchins, and even small octopuses for the lucky ones), then will come back on board the boat to leave you 25 to 30 minutes of snorkelling on your own, still under his supervision.

Suitable for anyone who can swim, from the age of 5 upwards, this guided snorkelling excursion in the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer will give you up to 1 hour of swimming in fish-filled waters, a refreshing experience not to be missed from Nice!

Practical information

Course of events

- Meeting with the guide at the Chango Diving base in the port of Nice

- Gear up at the base (distribution of snorkelling equipment and, if desired, fitting of full wetsuits and life jackets) where you can leave your personal belongings if needed

- Board in the boat in front of the base

- Sail for around 10 minutes to the snorkelling site in the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer

- Equipment check and safety briefing before the gradual launch with a few short in-water exercises lasting 5 minutes

- Departure for approximately 20 minutes of guided snorkelling in the bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, followed by 25 to 30 minutes of independent snorkelling around the boat

- Return to the boat where you can identify the fish you see on an identification plate

- Return trip of around 10 minutes to the port of Nice

- Disembarkation, de-equipping at the base and end of the activity

Activity requirements

All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.

All children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Written parental authorisation is required for minors between 14 to 18 years old to participate in this activity without an accompanying adult.

Special terms

The activity is not recommended for pregnant people over 3 months.

Participants who wear glasses can bring their own mask adapted to their eyesight. Otherwise, please ask your optician if you wish to wear contact lenses during the activity.

People wishing to take part in the outing as a companion, without taking part in the launch, pay the same price as the participants.
