At the school's launch site, the most comfortable and practical in Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet which hosts the famous Coupe Icare every year, you will enjoy personalised supervision on the Plateau-des-Petites-Roches to learn to fly a paraglider solo near Grenoble. As soon as you arrive onsite, you will receive a warm welcome from Air Alpin Parapente's specialist team and meet your course instructor. He or she will accompany you throughout your 2-day solo paragliding discovery course at Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet, and while learning to fly solo paragliders usually takes a week, it is safe to say that you will be able to fly alone on your second day of the course!
The first day of this solo paragliding course in Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet is dedicated to learning to paraglide on the school slope, where you will learn to master take-off techniques in calm conditions. In the afternoon, you will learn some theory to prepare for landing, before finishing off with some flying in a mechanical simulator! You will also get to grips with the flying equipment before starting the second part of the paraglider piloting course. The second and final day will be devoted to 2 flights: you will have the choice between 2 long tandem flights with dual controls, or a tandem flight followed by a solo flight.
Your adventure learning to fly solo in a paraglider in Saint-Hilaire will end with a full debriefing of the experience and your feelings after these flights full of emotions and sensations. Unique and supervised by specialists in the sport, this course will give you autonomy in the air, allowing you to fly like a real paraglider on the Plateau-des-Petites-Roches. A 2-day course to introduce you to solo paragliding at Saint-Hilaire-du-Touvet: the Air Alpin Parapente team has the ambition to get you flying in 2 days!
- Meeting with the instructor at the Air Alpin Parapente school
- Briefing on the course of the activity
- Walk to the school slope, right next to the school
- Day 1: mastery of take-off techniques, theory on how to prepare for landing, piloting in the mechanical simulator and familiarisation with the flight equipment
- Day 2: choose between 2 tandem flights with dual control or 1 tandem flight, followed by a solo flight, then a debriefing on your progress and your feelings to end the course

For safety and equipment reasons, please respect the following restrictions:
- Maximum weight: 198 lbs / 90 kg
- Maximum height: 190 cm
All children must be accompanied by an adult.
Please remember to wear suitable clothing (covering arms and legs), particularly shoes for medium-mountain hiking, trail running or jogging.
