Many routes have opened in the Pyrenees in the recent years and the practice is becoming more popular by the minutes, it's time for you to start! Whether in Val d'Azun, in the Gaves valley or at Cirque de Gavarnie, you will cross breathtaking (pun intended) natural, protected environments.

Practical information
A 2-day course for casual runners who are looking for a first experience of mountain running and sportive hiking in ideal conditions.
Altitude difference: between 1000 and 1500 metres per day on average
Distance: between 15 to 20 kms per day on average
Course from wild trails to single tracks
No/few delicate or aerial passages
Immersed in this picturesque and preserved site, in the heart of the Pyrenees National Park, you will discover all the specificities of trail running on varied routes.
Enjoy a moment of conviviality and discover the Brewery of Pays Toy! Yes, of course beer is good for recovery, especially the local one!
Day 1:
- Meet at the refuge in Gavarnie early morning
- First half day run: approx. 15 km - 800 mtrs altitude difference.
- Picnic
- Afternoon of technical training: uphill, downhill, use of poles
- Stretching and relaxation session.
- Visit of the Pays Toy brewery and free local beer tasting!
- Dinner and free evening.
Day 2:
- Day trail: about 20 kms - 1200 to 1500 mtrs altitude difference.
- Approx. 5 hours of running
- Picnic
- Debrief, end of the course around 4 pm.
- Running level: run 3 times/week for approx. 1/1.5 hours
- Occasionnal runs in varied terrains or regular practice of hiking
- Be able to climb 300 metres/hour minimum
- No mountain recognition skills required
- Training program with a certified instructor
