Called va'a in Tahitian, the Polynesian pirogue is a traditional canoe fitted with an outrigger for faster sailing. It is a very popular craft in French Polynesia, but much less so in mainland France, where the activity is only offered by certain watersports centres. You will set off for a 1.5-hour tour in a Polynesian pirogue from Carry-le-Rouet, in the late afternoon to enjoy the sunset. During your tour, the guide will suggest a swimming stop in one of the creeks of the Côte Bleue, while providing masks and snorkels if you wish to do a little snorkelling. You will also enjoy an aperitif on the water, the perfect way to share a convivial moment with the small group aboard the va'a.

Practical information

  • Launch of the pirogue and quick briefing on rowing techniques
  • Depart for a 1.5-hour guided tour of the creeks of the Côte Bleue in a Polynesian pirogue, with a swimming break along the way and an aperitif on the water
  • Return to the base, equipment storage and end of the activity
