Canoeing and Kayaking in the Loue Gorges at Ornans, near Besançon

A class II river, the Loue River offers perfect routes for canoeing and kayaking in the Doubs, with family or friends. You can canoe down the Loue River on your own, in complete safety thanks to the equipment and navigation advice provided by the instructors at the Akila leisure centre in Ornans before you set off on the trip of your choice:

• An 8 km descent - for 2 hours (without a break) or more, you will discover the incredible fauna and flora of the Doubs in the wild corners of the Loue Gorges;
• A 12 km descent - for 3 hours (without a break) or more, you will not only be cruising through the countryside but also through the heart of the little Venice of the Comtois, Ornans, a must-see village in the Doubs;
• Day trip - 5 to 6 hours of paddling await you between Montgesoye, Ornans and Cléron for an unforgettable canoeing trip on the Loue River.

Accessible to children aged 8 and over who can swim, canoeing and kayaking on the Loue River is a great outdoor getaway for all the family, just a 30-minute drive from Besançon. And even your four-legged friend can join in!
