Learn the basics of paragliding in Annecy with the Libre Envol school during a 5-day introductory course, depending on your availability and expectations. As your group is limited to a maximum of 7 people, this course will give you a series of paragliding flights in the calm aerological conditions typical of the Annecy region, as well as more individual tuition.
With glider, harness, helmet, radio and FFVL (Fédération Française de Vol Libre) licence in hand, you'll set off on the first 2 days for short flights of a few metres on a beautiful slope beside Lake Annecy, the aim being to learn how to take off and land. Once you've mastered the basics, you'll be ready for the big flights on the last three days of the course!

Practical information
Learn to paraglide in Annecy with certified instructors!
- 5-day course.
- Flight training from 9am to 3pm each day.
Days 1 and 2 - Learning to simulate a take-off
- 3 hours on the "school slope" (grass slope)
- try to get the glider over your head
- first sensations, try to simulate a real take-off
- debriefing every hour to give technical input
- lunch break at a snack bar next to the school
- after lunch, 1 hour theory lesson on Monday and Tuesday to prepare for the big flight on Wednesday morning.
Day 3 - Major flights
At Col de la Forclaz or Planfait:
- first solo flight with radio assistance
- instructor accompanies and assists you on take-off
- instructor on landing to assist you during the flight and on arrival.
Days 4 and 5
- Practical flying
- Continuation of the activity for 2 days and flight training to achieve maximum autonomy to become a real pilot
- 1 hour each afternoon on static inflation sessions (learn to inflate your glider without moving)
At the end of the morning on the last day, you'll collect your FFVL logbook (pilot's book)!
Once you've completed this course, you'll be able to start your first solo paragliding flights.
For safety and equipment reasons, participants must not weigh more than 100 kg (220lbs).
Please note that the course runs from Wednesday to Sunday (inclusive), and that it is currently not possible to do a split. This means that the course runs for 5 days in a row.
