Join an evening snowmobile excursion in the forests of the Arctic Circle and discover the Northern Lights in Rovaniemi. Welcoming participants from ages 4 and up on this family-friendly adventure!
Rovaniemi is the capital city of Finnish Lapland, situated in the north of the country. This area experiences snowy conditions during the winter months, with long, dark nights. Due to its position close to the Arctic Circle, it also has clear skies perfect for viewing the bright stars and the magical Northern Lights!
The tour begins at the starting point in Rovaniemi, where you will meet your experienced guide. They will go through a safety briefing and driving lesson for snowmobiling, so beginners are welcome! You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with the opportunity to switch places during the trip. Children will sit in a sled under warm blankets and be pulled by the guide's snowmobile. Once you have dressed in your Arctic gear, the adventure begins!
Following the guide, you will drive your snowmobile under the evening skies. You will drive through snow-covered forests and swamps while admiring the breathtaking landscapes that Lapland has to offer. Due to the terrain, a reduced speed is held during parts of the tour. If you're lucky, the mesmerising Aurora Borealis will appear in the sky above you! In this remote area away from the lights of the city, the chances of witnessing this natural phenomenon are much higher. Once you have admired the dancing colours, you will return to the starting point in Rovaniemi.
Don't miss this unforgettable evening snowmobile excursion to experience the Northern Lights and the remote nature of Rovaniemi in Finnish Lapland!
