Your adventure begins at the starting point in Rovaniemi (pick-up is also available from your accommodation, please specify when booking). Upon arrival, you'll meet your certified guide and be transferred to the canoeing departure point in the wilderness. Lapland is home to a sprawling network of calm, stress-free rivers and lakes. You'll arrive at the chosen quiet lake and receive your canoeing equipment (canoe raft, paddle, life jacket, and dry bag). This excursion is beginner-friendly, and the guide will adapt the difficulty to suit the needs of the group.

Each raft will be shared between up to two adults and one child. You'll start by learning the basics of paddling, such as how to steer and how to react in case of capsizing. Once everyone is prepared, the canoeing in Finnish Lapland begins! Following the guide, you'll set off on a gentle paddle, admiring the breathtaking Arctic nature you pass. This tour takes place in a small group, to ensure an intimate and personalised experience. Along the way, you'll learn more about Lapland and any flora and fauna you encounter. After the relaxing canoe trip from Rovaniemi, you'll arrive at the reindeer farm, located just a few hundred metres from the shore of the lake.

At the farm, you'll be greeted by the local herders and their majestic reindeer! The herders have been living in this area for over four hundred years. They will introduce you to the traditional way of life in Lapland, highlighting the deep cultural significance of reindeer herding for the local Sámi people. You'll also have the unique opportunity to approach the semi-wild reindeer by feeding them their favourite food, lichen. Hot drinks and snacks will be served, as you learn more about reindeer husbandry in Finnish Lapland. Afterwards, your canoe trip continues back across the pristine lake. Then, the guide will drive you to the original starting point in Rovaniemi.
