Arctic Berry & Mushroom Picking Hike in Rovaniemi

This trip departs from Rovaniemi, the capital city of Finnish Lapland, located right beside the Arctic Circle. Using a basket and berry comb, the guide will show you which fruit to collect and share insights about the different flora and fauna. From July to August, you'll be treated to glorious sunshine as you collect seasonal berries such as blueberries or cranberries. From late August to October, the autumnal colours will start to appear in the tundra, along with a wide variety of edible mushrooms! You'll search for types such as cepes or the golden chaga.

After collecting your delicious berries or mushrooms, you'll stop in the forest to build an open fire. The guide will prepare a local delicacy using your foraged goods, such as a mushroom omelette or freshly made blueberry juice. For dessert, you'll indulge in a homemade blueberry tart, baked in advance! This hiking trip in Rovaniemi provides a unique chance to fully immerse yourself in the rich nature of Finnish Lapland.
