To begin your guided ascent of Dinara, you'll meet your hiking guide in Sinj. He'll take you to the Dinara mountains in the Dinara Alps, on the border between Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina. Once there, the guide will introduce you to the trail and give you some tips for hiking in Dinara. Depending on your level, you'll decide together on a suitable itinerary.

As you climb Dinara, you'll discover a unique karst landscape, characterized by caves, dolines and rocky outcrops. The area is rich in biodiversity, with diverse plant and animal species, some of which are endemic to the region. Your guide will be happy to tell you all about the wolves, foxes, jackals, weasels, martens, bears and lynx that inhabit this wild region.

Once at the summit of Dinara, you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the Adriatic Sea and the inland regions of the Dinaric Alps. You'll be able to see in all directions: to the northeast towards Troglav and Konj, to the southeast towards Lake Peruča, to the south towards Kijevski Kozjak and Svilaja, and to the west towards Promina. Challenge yourself and climb the highest peak in Croatia during this guided hike to Dinara (Sinjal) !

The are 3 different climbing tours to the peak, depending on your level of fitness. None of the tours is technically difficult.

  • Easiest tour : about 5 hours.
  • Most difficult : about 8 hours.
  • Maximum number of participants : 16.
  • 1-4 people group : 1 guide
  • 5-10 people group : 2 guides
  • 11 and more : 3 guides
Course of events
  • Meet your guide in Sinj
  • Drive to the mountains (about 1 hour)
  • Activity briefing
  • 5 to 8 hours hike to Sinjal (itinerary depending on your level of fitness: departure from Glavaš or Brezovec)
  • During the hike, your guide will teach you all you need to know about the Dinara mountains
  • End of the hike
  • Drive back to Sinj (about 1 hour)
Activity requirements

You must be in good physical shape and able to hike for several hours in a mountainous terrain.

Starting time of the activity will be agreed upon after your booking. It will be early in the morning.

The departure is from Sinj but transport from other cities can be arranged for an extra charge. Please contact your guide once your booking is confirmed.
