Your first dive near Chania begins at the dive centre. Together with the instructor, you'll choose a wetsuit suited to the season to ensure your comfort in the water. Once you've made your choice, the instructor will give you a full briefing on the scuba diving experience. After this theoretical part, you'll head to the dive site.
You'll set off on your first dive in the Cretan Sea from the shore. Every step of the way, your qualified instructor will guide you, advise you and do everything to help you enjoy a magical experience in a protected diving area. You must know how to swim and be comfortable in the water to take part in this activity.
There is a no fly time after scuba diving, due to the increased risk of Decompression Sickness (DCS) while flying. It is recommended that you do not fly for 12 hours, if you have completed 1 dive. If you have done 2 dives, you should not fly for at least 18 hours.
If you wear glasses, the most common option to dive would be to wear contact lenses. Another option would be to get a prescription mask, which has your prescription lens built into the mask. It's a little more expensive, but would be the most comfortable way of diving.
The diving spot will vary since it is depended on each diver and on the weather.
