Go for a 4h30 panoramic hike in Alta Rocca and admire the sunset on the remains of a medieval casteddu!
Be amazed by the natural spectacle of the sunset in an exceptional setting in Corsica, near the Aiguilles de Bavella, in Alta Rocca! When the sun descends towards the horizon and its orange light is reflected on the landscape, the latter takes on a whole new dimension and is bathed in flamboyant colours.
Wouldn't this be the best time to go hiking near Bavella? This is exactly what this panoramic sunset hike activity offers you. Add to this breathtaking panorama a view of the picturesque village of Serra-di-Scopamène and a medieval casteddu, a tasting of local Corsican products, and you are sure to experience a moment out of time!
To get to the panoramic viewpoint, you will follow a heritage trail that traces the history of the chestnut, revealing an important aspect of Corsica's identity. You will leave the village under the chestnut trees to follow a centuries-old path through a magnificent forest of green oaks covered with lichen to discover ancient charcoal kilns and the remains of houses dating from the Bronze Age. You will finally reach the summit after about an hour and a half's walk and will be able to admire the extraordinary panoramic view over the Alta Rocca to the sea.
The colours of the sunset will sublimate the Aiguilles de Bavella in the distance! You can then enjoy a spuntinu, a Corsican picnic based on local seasonal products! You can also take advantage of this to immortalise the moment and take photos! Finally, you will go back down by a more rolling path, in the descending light or by headlamp to the village where the braying of the donkeys will probably welcome you at the arrival.
Don't hesitate to explore the Alta Rocca, discover the local products and admire a breathtaking panorama at sunset with the Aiguilles de Bavella in the distance, book your panoramic hike at sunset!
