About the activity

Discover Tenerife’s marine life on a boat and snorkeling tour from Las Galletas!

Set off on an unforgettable adventure in the Atlantic Ocean with this accessible and guided experience, perfect for nature and sea lovers! With the help of an experienced instructor, you’ll have the chance to spot green sea turtles, manta rays, and many other marine species native to the Canary Islands.

Your adventure begins at the port of Las Galletas, in southern Tenerife, where the friendly Ocean Friends team will welcome you. After a full safety briefing and overview of the activity, you’ll board the boat for a 20-minute cruise through the protected Malpaís de Rasca nature reserve. Enjoy stunning views of volcanic coastline as you sail towards the wild cliffs of El Palmar, only accessible by sea.

Once anchored, it’s time to jump in! If you’re new to snorkeling, don’t worry. Your guide will walk you through how to use the gear and stay by your side in the water to ensure you're comfortable and confident from the start. While swimming ability is essential, no previous snorkeling experience is needed.

You’ll spend about an hour in the water, where the average temperature is a pleasant 22°C. This spot is home to a rich and thriving ecosystem: green turtles, rays, parrotfish, trumpetfish, seabream, damselfish, and more await beneath the surface. While wildlife sightings can’t be guaranteed, this secluded site offers excellent conditions for observing marine life in its natural habitat.

To capture the moment, your instructor will take a few photos during the experience, and a full photo and video pack is available for purchase if you want more memories to take home. With small group sizes (maximum 8 participants), you’ll enjoy a safe, personal, and immersive marine adventure.

Whether you’re a curious beginner or an aspiring underwater explorer, this boat and snorkeling tour from Las Galletas is a must-do in Tenerife!

The speedboat made it possible to get close-up to all sorts of wildlife in a very comfortable, but thrilling manner. The lightweight floatation wetsuits made the snorkelling very easy. The guide/ tour operator was experienced and we felt safe and well cared for. Loved the video and pictures we got from the morning, though we felt the video was a little expensive. Embarking from Las Gallettas made the experience more authentic since it is a port removed from the central tourist beaches of Los Christianos, etc… which allows you to experience local services like a fish market, and tapas bars by the docks which would not be seen in the larger, more touristy ports.

Absolutely fantastic! Totally recommended. We did the snorkeling trip today. We saw lots of dolphins, swam with fish, turtles and rays. I’ve done a lot of trips like this (Hawaii, Australia etc). This was the best - no large crowds, it was just us and the crew (4 in total). Book it, you won’t be disappointed 👍

We booked the tour in advance and were lucky to be the only (two of us) participants - so we had full attention from the fantastic guide. If you are going by own car, plan a little bit extra time to find some parking space. The company contacted us two days earlier to find out the sizes for fins and swimsuits which saved time at check-in. Sea was calm and after a 20-minute ride with a rubber boat we reached the snorkeling spot near high rocks and fish farms on the other side. First we spotted some dolphins playing. Then entered the sea and started to look around. Initially not much was there, but later four turtles came and started to swim around beautifully. Some other fish, too, however turtles were by far the most interesting to watch.
