It is an exceptional place for an outdoor excursion, just 1 hour's drive from La Malbaie and 1.5 hours from Saguenay! And one of the best ways to discover this environment, part of the Central Areas of the Charlevoix Biosphere Reserve, is to rent a kayak on Lake Arthabaska, an activity accessible to anyone who can swim from 10 years old.

Alone in your own boat or in pairs, you can kayak independently on Lake Arthabaska, as well as on connected lakes such as Lac des Îles and Lake Pemmican, as far as the Wabano Dam. Before you set off, you will also have the chance to pick up a self-discovery guide, provided free of charge by the Grands-Jardins National Park team to help you learn more about the natural world around you!

Practical information

Course of events

- Meeting with the team at the park's Discovery and Services Centre

- Fitting of life jackets and briefing on the activity and safety instructions (you can ask for the self-discovery guide (free) to help you better understand your surroundings)

- Launching of the kayaks on the edge of the lake

- Departure for a 4-hour round trip on the lake on your own

- Return to the starting point, return of your equipment and end of the activity

Activity requirements

All participants must know how to swim to take part in this activity.

Minors must be accompanied by an adult.

Special terms

Prices are per kayak, not per person: you can book single kayaks (price per ‘Adult’ or ‘Children’) or double kayaks (book x1 ‘Adult + Infant’ for a kayak for 1 adult and 1 child aged 17 or under, or x1 ‘Duo’ for a kayak for 2 adults).

Pets are not permitted to join in this activity.
