Practical information

Explore the Vila Franca do Campo Islet on this 1 hour guided snorkeling excursion with a professional guide and enjoy crystal-clear waters as you get to know the underwater ecosystem.

Course of events

Please allow 3 hours in total for this activity, including 1 hour of snorkeling.

  • Arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes in advance.
  • Meet your guide.
  • Fill the paperwork.
  • Get your equipment and gear.
  • Briefing on the marine life you'll see, snorkeling spot where the activity will take place and how it's done.
  • Theoretical and practival session for explaining safety procedures in the sea.
  • Travel by boat to the snorkeling site (5 minutes).
  • Spend around 1 hour in the water, diving from a boat.
  • Return to meeting point (5 minutes).
  • Return of equipment and end of activity.
  • At the center, you can take a hot shower and change.
Activity requirements

All participants must be able to swim.

All children must be accompanied by an adult.

You must have the medical certificate filled in at the shop in order to be able to do the activity.

A minimum number of 2 participants is required to run this activity.

This was very fun, the water was very choppy but the crew found an area that was more calm for us to have our snorkel experience. There were tons of fish and other aquatic life that the guides made sure to point out and inform us of. The wet suits fit perfectly and kept us warm while snorkeling.

We wanted to go snorkelling in the Azores, and we struggled to find a spot that seemed good, but booking a snorkelling excursion in the Azores through Manawa was an excellent choice! All the people at the Azores Sub Dive centre were incredibly kind and accommodating. During the excursion, the guide was informative, attentive and very cautious towards our safety. We saw a lot of wonderful fish and had a great time!
