Location
Strubklamm Gorge is Austria’s longest canyon system (2,400m). Situated on the Almbach, this narrow, high walled 200m (650 ft) gorge is popular with experienced cavers and canyoneers due to its is challenging terrain. The activity base is situated 25km (30 mins) outside of Salzburg city center in Golling. Easily and conveniently reached both by car and by public transport, the nearest train station is Golling- Abtenau Station.

A full day adventure for adventurous beginners and anyone with previous canyoning experience, Strubklamm is a narrow, challenging ravine with high walls, lots of swimming sections, and minimal light – offering you the chance to push your perceptions and experience what real adventure canyoning is all about. Your action-packed tour starts with a short walk to the canyon where you will receive a briefing – learning how to tombstone off cliffs and safely slide over obstructions. During the next few hours, you will navigate every inch of the canyon – squeezing through passes, swimming with the current, diving under waterfalls, and jumping 10m into deep pools. Once you reach the end, you will return to the activity base where your adventure will end.

Strubklamm Gorge is considered an intermediate activity that is physically challenging but requires no rope work. Total duration in the canyon ranges from 5-6 hours with opt-out options for jumps and slides where necessary.
