Get the whole family involved with fun filled canyoning at Rose Garden Gorge in the Austrian Tirol!

Get the whole family involved on this canyoning adventure through the Rose Garden Gorge in Imst!

One of the most accessible and family-friendly canyons in the Tirol, round up your favourite big kids and head out to explore the whitewater ravines of Rose Garden Gorge. Hidden in the heart of the Austrian Alps, this 3-hour excursion is all about getting wet up to your neck and seeing what canyoning is all about! Full of clear pools and natural slip n' slides, you don't need to be in kindergarten to give it a try - but a childish sense of humour is essential!

Location
One of the most popular summer sports in the Alps, the Austrian Tirol/Tyrol is renowned for its deep ravines and gorges across Tarrenz, Landeck and Imst. Close to the Inn, Schinderbach and Malchbach rivers, in winter is known for its family-friendly ski resort Hoch-Imst. Innsbruck is only 40-minutes away by car or mainline train and is served by an international airport.

Activity
Meet your instructor at the activity centre in Tarrenz for a 3-hour canyoning excursion in Rosengarten Gorge (Rose Garden). A family-friendly adventure for children as young as 6 years old, this 1.5km ravine is only a stone's throw from Imst town centre. Extending from the Blue Grotto to Johannes (St. John’s) Church, this easy and accessible canyon is full of jumps, slides and a 6m non-mandatory abseil. This natural gem, one of Tirol’s most valuable natural habitats, is not filled with roses (as the name may suggest), but with rare ferns and mosses, as well as millions of years old, geologically fascinating rocks. A well-secured mountain trail with bridges that take you right through the gorge where you will be transported back to the activity centre - enjoy a warm shower and snacks once you're done.

Conditions
An easy an accessible gorge, the total duration in the canyon is one hour and is accessed by foot (5 minutes) with a total transfer time of 15 minutes. All jumps, abseils and slides can be avoided if necessary but strongly recommended:
Abseil: 6m
Jumps: 1m
Slides: 3m
