I took part in the Northern Lights snowmobile hunt. Unfortunately there were no northern lights that day, so we drove through the forests around Saariselkä and ate at Husky & Co's old base, which is very nice. Travel speed with the snowmobile was between 15 and 20 km/h, which despite all caution I felt was very slow. Changing clothes and the very very detailed instructions on everything also took a lot of time. Even though our guide (a Finnish veteran) had a lot to say, a lot of things could have been streamlined in favor of a longer route. According to him, we largely drove the 2-hour route as part of the 3-hour package. We drive approx. 16 km. The clothing given out, especially shoes and gloves, were very worn out, so after the first few meters I went straight back to my own gloves. I think it's definitely a cool event for absolute newbies. However, people who have already ridden an ATV or snowmobile should book the long package or rent a snowmobile themselves.
