HALIOTIS PENICHE

Haliotis have many diving centres based all over Portugal, they have centres in Peniche, Sesimbra, Santa Maria, Madeira and Faial (Azores). They pride themselves on always focusing on the quality of the services provided. Haliotis is an internationally renowned company in the diving world.

The Haliotis project started in Peniche; the top quality infrastructures and optimised operating modes made it a reference in the Portuguese world of diving. They continuously strive to improve their services and equipment and in 2012 the school purchased another boat, Lascaris, adding another coup to their long list of successes.

The centre is located near Supertubos beach in Peniche, onsite you will find a pool, classrooms and shop. They also have a changing area where you can have a hot shower and get geared up with ease and comfort. 

Pencihe/Berlengas
When talking about Peniche, Haliotis really means Berlengas, because all Open Water courses take place there. The small archipelago of the Berlengas is located approximately 10km west of Peniche, and consists of the main island Berlenga Grande and the adjoining riffs Estelas and Farilhões-Forcados. They were declared a Natural Reserve on 3 September, 1981.

The Natural Reserve of the Berlengas is a magnificent spot, as it has transparent waters and a great variety of underwater species. It is a marine reserve also nominated as a Biosphere Reserve by the European Council and since 2011 it has been protected as a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.

Haliotis has been taking its scuba divers out to the Berlengas Natural Marine Reserve since 1981, as it has a climate with both Atlantic and Mediterranean characteristics, making it unique.

Haliotis have been members of the PADI association since 28th October, 2004

All members of the team have different levels of PADI certifications.
