Peak High Mountaineering is owned by Gavin Raubenheimer and has been operating since 1992.
Gavin holds a Mountaineering Instructor Award (M.I.A.) endorsed by the Mountain Development Trust of SA. He is a Mountaineering Guide NQF level 8 and NQF Cultural and Nature Guide NQF level 4.
Gavin is a past President of the KwaZulu-Natal Section of the Mountain Club of South Africa and since 2011 the Chairman of the Mountain Development Trust. He has been involved in mountain rescue since 1992 and since 2005 has been the Convener of Mountain Rescue in the Province.
Gavin has climbed in most of the major and minor venues in South Africa and has also climbed and guided in Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Morocco, Jordan, Mauritius, Italy, France, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Wales, Canada, Peru and Bolivia.
Most guided trips are conducted with only one or two clients at a time. Outings are deliberately kept small and informal. Gavin is also available to guide clients in other countries on special request.
