Vidar "the Viking" Karlstad was born and raised in Mehamn, the northernmost fishing village in the world. The land of the midnight sun and northern lights are in his blood and he takes great pleasure in sharing fascinating experiences and great memories of nature, culture, and the local way of life with the rest of the world!

He founded Nordic Safari in 2003. Nordic Safari has now grown into the largest tourist company on the Nordkyn Peninsula and offers a variety of outdoor activities and thrilling adventures in the Arctic region all year round.

The base of operations is the Adventure Campsite in Mehamn, where they offer high-quality accommodation in a relaxing atmosphere and all equipment, guidance, and expertise needed for your adventures in the far north.
